RESCUE 14-1


2000 SAULSBURY/EMERGENCY-ONE RESCUE-ENGINE

Rescue 14-1 as it is titled by MCCC is a 2000 Saulsbury/E-One Rescue-Engine. Some immediate features of the rig include the 2 complete sets of Hurst Extrication Tools. On board it carries 2 Cutters, 2 Spreaders, 2 Comb-Tools, 6 Rams, and 7 Airbags. In Con-Junction with the Hurst Rescue Tools, it carries cribbing rated by the PADOH meeting the "Heavy Rescue" standards, as well as various struts and farm jacks.

The Engine capabilities of it consist of but not limited to a 1500gpm pump, with 500 g/w/t, and 70 gallons of foam. On board the rig carries 1600' of LDH supply, 600' of 3', and 4- 1 3/4 attack lines all at 200' each.

- Rescue 14-1 was purchased brand new in early 2000 From Gaurdian Fire Equipment Sales In Harrisburgh PA. The Rescue came %80 Equipped, at a price tag of about $380,000, to replace the outdated 1979 international Rescue that had served the Company for 21years, and to add a Engine to the fleet, that had not been seen within the Company for 5 years. After the purchase, all members were mandated to complete a Engine Company Operations class @ the State Fire Academy, before the unit would be placed into service. The Rescue was officially placed into service on 1-1-01. Within 1 month after being placed into service, the Rescue ran its first pin and job.

The Rescue is first due as both a Rescue and an Engine in the Borough, as well as automatic first due aid as a Rescue and or Engine in portions of Derry, Decatur, Armagh and Granville Townships.

Ladder 14 was purchased in late 1995, from the Cannonsburgh Pa Fire Department. The Ladder was bought to replace the outdated 1965 ALF, that had served 30 years with the company. Ladder 14 runs all first alarm building fires within the Borough, as well as automatic first alarm mutual aid to some sorrounding municipalities.

- Boat 14-1 was ordered in early 1997 Brand New by a local dealer in Burnham Pa, to replace the outdated 6x3 V bottom boat that had been in service by the company since the 1960's.

Boat 14-1 is primary on the Juniata River, as well as portions of Juniata, and Snyder Counties.

Boat 14-1 has recently received a new paint job and is scheduled to be lettered late January. Pics to come
